Upstox Demat Account – How to Open Upstox Demat Account – Step by Step Guide to open Upstox Demat Account

You can open a Trading & Demat Account at Upstox online within a matter of minutes. There is absolutely no need to run to the stock broker’s office and do lengthy paperwork. I will show you the latest step-by-step account opening process along with screenshots for a better understanding.

You need to arrange scanned copies of these documents:

PAN Card {Identity proof}
Aadhaar Card (Front & Back Side) – {Address Proof}
Last 6 Months Bank Statement or one Cancelled Cheque
Photo
Specimen Signature

First we will have a quick look at the charges:

Account Opening Charge: FREE
Brokerage Plan: NIL for Delivery orders. You pay 0.01% or Rs 20 (whichever is lower) for Intraday/F&O/Commodity/Currency.
Annual Maintenance Charge: Rs 177

Now lets go ahead and open your Upstox Account!

STEP 1. First go to the Account Opening Page: Click Here> Upstox

A page like this will appear.

Enter your e-mail, password(the password that you want to set for your Upstox Account) and mobile no. Then click on SIGN UP.

2. A page like this will appear.

Enter your PAN Card Number and DOB(Date of Birth). Then click on Next.

3. In next page you will be asked to enter some basic details. You will have to tick your Gender, Marital Status & Annual Income. In trading experience, you will have to tick for how many years you have been trading/investing in stock market. You can tick “Less than 1 yr” if you are a newbie.

In Politically Exposed, i will advise you to tick “No”.

Then select your occupation from the drop-down menu.

Then enter your father’s/spouse’s name.

Click on Next.

4. In next page, for Choose segment to trade in, keep the ticks on “Equity, FO and Currency” and “Commodity”.

For Choose a Leverage Plan on Equity Cash, i will advise you to select “Basic”. You can also select “Priority” if you want higher margin.

Click on Next.

5. A page like this will appear.

Click on Yes to get 1 Stock for FREE.

6. In next page you will have to enter your bank details & upload bank proof.

Enter IFSC Code, Bank Account No and re-enter Bank Account No. Tick Account Type as Savings.

You will also have to upload scanned copy of Cancelled Cheque/ 6 Months Bank Account Statement.

Click on Next.

7. A page like this will appear.

You will have to scanned image of your signature in Signature option.

In Income Proof option, upload 6 Months Bank Account Statement/ Salary Slip/ Income Tax Return/ Form 16.

Then click on Next.

8. In next page, you will have to enter your address details.

NOTE: The address must be same as that mentioned in your Aadhaar Card.

Enter Flat/House No/Building, Colony/Street/Locality, City/Town & Pincode. Select State from drop down menu.

Now upload front and back side scanned images of your Aadhaar card in Aadhar front side & Aadhar back side boxes respectively.

Then click on Next.

9. Next page will look like this.

You will have to upload scanned image of your PAN Card and Photo(passport size) in the two boxes respectively.

Then click on Next.

10. A page like this will appear.

If your Aadhar Card is not linked with Mobile No, click on “I will courier this form”.

If your Aadhar Card is linked with Mobile No click on “e-Sign with Aadhaar OTP”. This process is faster to open your account online without any paperwork.
